“What is photojournalism and where is it going?”

Visual journalism incorporates ancient symbols that resonate with humans across cultures and time and conveys meaning instantaneously at a deep level. In another word, we can say, Photojournalism is a particular form of journalism (the collecting, editing, and presenting of news material for publication or broadcast) that employs images in order to tell a news story. In one word, Photojournalist is a storyteller. Photojournalism is realism in its freshest form, direct from nature; it’s creative; it stands the test of time; it moves us and inspires us to see things differently. But Photojournalist has to consider that which news should publish and which not. From my personal experience I want to share one incident. In one protest, I click photo in a violence situation. After that I realize I click a picture where one girl’s almost full nude body came into my picture because of the mayhem. I could use those pictures, if I didn’t have that concern in my mind that in the religious country like ours won’t permit this at all. So, there could be many different news around us, but which I should pick and how I present it’s very important. Because people will know the news through us. So, what will the news impact to the people’s mind it will be totally our responsibility.
So, at the conclusion, I would like to go with the speech that “As a photojournalist we supply information to the world that is overwhelmed with preoccupations and full of people who need the company of images. We pass judgement on what we see, and this involves an enormous responsibility — Henri Cartier Bresson”.
